Besiktas start Bebe talks
Besiktas have confirmed they have started negotiations with Manchester United over the possible signing of Bebe.
Sir Alex Ferguson surprised many after reportedly paying £7.4million for the striker last summer from Portuguese side Vitoria de Guimaraes.
The 20-year-old, who never played a game for Vitoria, was available for £125,000 from his old club Estrela da Amadora just months earlier.
But the winger, who grew up in a homeless shelter outside Lisbon, spent most of last season in the United reserves.
His last first-team appearance came against non-league Crawley in the FA Cup back in February.
And with Aston Villa forward Ashley Young set to join after he returns from his holidays, Bebe looks to have played his last game for the club.
He is expected to initially join the Turkish giants on a loan deal with a view to a £2million permanent switch, which would represent a £5.4million loss for United.

Not good enough to play for our reserves, apparently. But still good enough to score in the Champions League. A hug for Chicharito and two fingers firmly up to Daniel Taylor and all the other journalists that were falling over themselves to write him off as the new Ali Dia. Without wanting to seem like a backhanded compliment he reminds me a lot of Emile Heskey, in that his size, strength and pace will cause defenders problems regardless of what he actually does with the ball. And at 20 he has plenty of time to work on the end product.

more lazy journalism imo. hea gonna need time to adapt. new country and language let alone a new nevel of training and fitness. If i were you id forget his name for the next 6 months and then lets see how the kid is getting on.

SAF has confirme that he is more of a winger/attacking mid in his press conference. "Normally we'd assess a player over a long period but we have a good scout in Portugal and we trust his impulse. Other clubs were starting to hover so we decided to go for it." He's quick, two-footed, raw material but I'm sure we can work with that. He doesn't speak any English so we'll provide him with a language teacher. The most important thing is to settle him into the club. We don't need to rush him because we have plenty of players in his position like Nani, Valencia, Obertan, Cleverley and Giggs."

He reminds me of a young Ruud Gullit and probably plays in the same position, lets hope he turns out as good as him.

I dont think you can compare Bebe to Hernandez. Chicharito had just scored a hatful of goals in the top mexican league aswel and playing and scoring for the international team. I am feeling a lot better about after reading lots o reports saying that he is more of a versatile attacker who can paly left right and central but hasnt really been defined a position yet. With all the raw skills he has we could mol dhim to be whatever we like. I guess the success of this tranfer depends on how long that takes! At least we have a Nani to to look after our Bebe.

I DO think the strategy is to buy young and sell on for more, and there are a few players who have been very close to leaving for big money that would have shocked quite a few people. But if it works dont knock it. The fact is that we cannot afford to turn down the likes of 80m for Ronaldo and very few clubs would NOT turn that type of money. We should be one of the clubs that laughs at offers of any amount, just as Barca would do, but so be it.

I am extremely extremely skeptical about this signing tbh, I mean I haven't seen anything of him besides those video clips, but he looks really really raw and has really poor decision making in a video which I presume was made to make him look good?lol Diouf has also not shown me anything at all that he will make it here, and only god knows why we went for Manucho only to sell him after a season.. Hernandez thankfully has inspired me with a lot of confidence though.. But I guess what do I know, I thought Vidic and Evra were absolutely useless in their first few games for us..

I wouldn't take much from that video in a positive or negative sense, it's very easy to make a player good/bad from putting together a video of a few minutes.

I don't get this signing, I don't think anyone does.

It must be 7m with add ons and clauses and such, surely? I just doesnt make any sense to me.
