Neville hoping for Becks return
Gary Neville is crossing his fingers David Beckham will make his testimonial night perfect by donning the Manchester United kit once more.
Beckham is due to give a formal response next week but all the indications are the former England skipper will play against Juventus on May 24, a repeat of the epic 1999 Champions League semi-final.
It would complete a full 'Class of 92' line-up, with Nicky Butt and Phil Neville already accepting an invitation to join Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes, who remain members of Sir Alex Ferguson's first-team squad.
"I couldn't ask for more than to have all my friends back for one last time," said Neville.
"It will make the night even more special for me and I hope the fans will enjoy seeing them back too.
"They were special times for us, we were young lads fulfilling our wildest dreams and hopefully we will get to experience that again against Juventus."
Prior to Beckham's exit for Real Madrid, the five players had been involved in countless trophy-winning exploits since their emergence en-masse in 1995.
Although they had all made their debuts before that, it wasn't until then that Sir Alex Ferguson gave the first indication he was so convinced about their qualities he was prepared to make them the bedrock of his team.
Respected pundit Alan Hansen was not impressed, famously declaring: "You win nothing with kids."
Six Premier League titles, two FA Cups and the European Cup, which capped an unprecedented Treble in 1999 proved the folly of Hansen's words and ensured 'the Class of 92' earned an indelible place in English football history.
"One of the greatest privileges of being a manager is playing a part in the development of young players - watching them grow in confidence and ability," said Ferguson.
"I have been fortunate to work with many exceptional young players, but the class of 92 was unique.
"For so many of them to stay together and succeed at the highest level is a great tribute to their talent and this club's belief in the power of youth.
"I am convinced that no group of players will ever make such an impact on the English game as those boys have done - and continue to do."

It'd be awesome seeing Gary Neville, Phil Neville, Giggs, Scholes, Butt and Beckham all in the United shirt for one last time obviously for nostalgia reasons. Interested to see who else is taking part as it'd be good to see Ole, Cole, Yorke and Keane play too although can't imagine the latter being a popular choice with the top of the club heirachy.
