Evans relishing derby clash
Jonny Evans is hoping to bring Manchester City's unbeaten run to an end in Sunday's clash at Old Trafford.
Manchester derbies are always fiercely competitive but the latest encounter has been given even more of an edge by City's tremendous start to the new season.
Mark Hughes' men have won their opening four Premier League matches and Manchester United defender Evans admits he has been impressed.
However, the Northern Ireland international is relishing the challenge of trying to keep United ahead of City in the table.
"We all know about the big rivalry between United and City and it's always nice to get the upper hand on them," said Evans.
"They have put themselves up there now. It's a long season but fair play to them because they've got off to a good start."
Evans, who could keep his place if Rio Ferdinand's groin injury is not risked, is thoroughly enjoying life at Old Trafford and aims to keep improving.
"I feel very settled among the first-team squad now," he told the club's official website. "I also felt very much part of it last season, but it was kind of a new thing for me.
"Rio and Nemanja [Vidic] are the top centre-backs in the world and I'm learning a lot from them.
"Wes [Brown] and myself have both got a fight on our hands to get into the team, but I still think we will play a lot throughout the season."
